SkyAbove Therapy is looking for a passionate and skilled Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Program Specialist to join our supportive special education team for the 2025-2026 school year!

What You’ll Do:
- Oversee ESE Compliance for the building (IEP, 504, Gifted) •
- Facilitate all ESE meetings for the building
- Prepare/review/monitor accurate completions of educational documentation in student records pertaining to ESE (IEP, 504, Gifted)
- Provide professional development to General Education and ESE teachers
- Maintain working knowledge of all federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to ESE (IDEA, ADA, ESEA)
- Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues
- Communicate and function effectively as a member of a classroom team (related service providers, paraprofessionals)
- Attend school district meetings when applicable and/or as requested by the department.
What You Bring:
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in education or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Florida Certification: Must hold a valid Florida Department of Education (DOE) Professional Educator Certificate in Exceptional Student Education (K-12). A certification in Educational Leadership is highly preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of four (4) years of successful classroom experience as an Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Teacher is required. Prior experience in a leadership capacity (e.g., ESE Department Chair, Instructional Coach, Team Lead) is strongly preferred.
- Expert Knowledge: Expert-level knowledge of federal (IDEA) and state ESE laws, rules, and regulations. Deep understanding of curriculum, evidence-based instructional practices, and assessment for students with a wide range of disabilities.
- Leadership & Coaching Skills: Demonstrated ability to provide effective coaching, mentorship, and professional development to ESE teachers and support staff.
- IEP & Compliance Mastery: Proven expertise in facilitating complex IEP meetings, ensuring compliance with all legal and procedural requirements, and maintaining accurate records.
- Compliance: Ability to pass a Level 2 background check as required by the state of Florida for working in schools.
